Khoang Xanh – Suoi Tien
60 kilometer from Hanoi city centre, Khoang Xanh – Suoi Tien, Van Hoa commune, Ba Vi district owns breathtaking landscape with the combination between mountains, rivers and virgin forests.
Khoang Xanh – Suoi Tien is located in the valley of Ba Vi mountain and 400 meter above sea level. The whole area is covered with rolling mountains and forests. In addition, Suoi Tien lies at the foot of Tan mountain. On the headwater are stunning waterfalls like Mo, Hoa, Tran and Mam Xoi. From the mountain, these waterfalls pour down day by day, creating high and low sound. The scenery wears the wild appearance of the mountainous region.
The climate here is cool around the year with slow-moving cloud covering Ba Vi mountain summit. It has some similarities with Dalat’s climate.
It takes only one hour to move from Vinh Yen to Tam Dao. Going through 20 kilometer of sloping roads and hillsides surrounded by rows of pine trees, tourists will see Tam Dao appearing in the dew.
Tam Dao national park belongs to Tam Dao town, Tam Dao district, Vinh Phuc province and 86 kilometer from Hanoi. The climate here is unique with 4 seasons in 1 day and the landscape looks poetic and magnificent.
Tam Dao has the length of 80 kilometer to the Northwest – Southeast and the width of 10-15 kilometer. The area of Tam Dao is 253 hectare and it is 900 meter above the sea level. Tam Dao mountain possesses three summits that are similar to islands including Ban Thach (1,388 metre), Thien Nhi (1,375 metre) and Phu Nghia (1,400 metre). Tam Dao is really an ideal destination for going on holiday in the North.
In Tam Dao, the weather is a bit cold in the morning but hot like in the summer at noon while the afternoon has dry and cold winds that usually blow in the autumn; and when the night falls, cold winter occupies the space.This lovely town is formed by small, zigzagging and tortuous roads and a stream going across the town from season to season.
Thien Son Suoi Nga
Going along the Highway 32 or the controlled-access highway Lang – Hoa Lac, you will arrive Son Tay commune. To enter Thien Son Suoi Nga, you continue to turn left to come to Ba Vi national park.
Thien Son – Suoi Nga is situated to the east of Ba Vi mountain and called Tan Vien Son by the local people. This destination is closely related to the legend of Son Tinh – Thuy Tinh in the period of Hung King.
The whole region is divided into three main sections consisting of Ha Son, Trung Son and Ngoan Son. The most impressive site is Cong Troi waterfall that is always full of water throughout the year.
Cong Troi waterfall is about 25 meter high. It pours down the hillside, forming a natural swimming pool with the depth of 1.5 – 2.0 meter. This pool is prefered by a number of tourists. Not far from Cong Troi waterfall and the natural pool is Thien Son cave. where art and music performance is shown. Ngoan Son is located between Trung Son and Ha Son and owns a 12-hectare lagoon for fishing and rowing boats. In Ha Son, there are a waterfall named Tam Cap, a lot of small streams and bridges crossing the poetic stream. A common point of Ha Son, Trung Son and Ngoan Son is that hotels are contructed based on the architecture of houses-on-stilts and lies near the forest and waterfall, which are stops for a short while for tourists during the trip.
It is 70 kilometer from Hanoi to Hoa Binh. After that, to arrive Mai Chau, tourists have to move around 60 kilometer from Hoa Binh. On the way, tourists will go through a rough and winding road called Doc Cun with the length of 12 kilometer. From 200 to 1,500 meter above the sea level, Mai Chau has cool and fresh climate during the year.
Mai Chau is regarded as the residence of Thai people. Coming here, tourists often go to visit Lac village because this village contains a host of outstanding features of the locals. In tourist seasons, Lac village is always lively and crowded with people.
There are a series of specialities in Mai Chau but the most popular are sticky rice and honey. With delicious flavour, Mai Chau sticky rice is one of the favorite and memorable food of tourists.
